Breakdown of the project during the first phase

• Preliminary survey –for diagnostic purposes- of the physical characteristics of the site: topographical survey, mapping of the most archeologically interesting areas, preparation of a digital model of the ground with a view to the subsequent, three-dimensional model of the site.
• Archaeological dig to uncover the architectural structures, the stages of the same and the various construction events and recover all those finds from everyday life certainly present in the site, given its abandonment after its destruction.
• Investigation and reconstruction based on existing and new sources of the historic context from the XII to the XIV century during which the Montaccianico castle enjoyed its heyday and had a political-military role.
• Restoration and consolidation of the structure found, for the purposes of conservation and use.
• Publication and cultural, didactic and touristic valorisation of the findings and structures and materials brought to light.
